Our second and last morning at Rincon! Surf forecast was equally small but we're excited to get out there and are hoping for slightly bigger surf!

Neither Holly nor I had ever surfed at this epic surf break and we were both thrilled to be able to visit it. The forecast posted was for very small surf, which turned out to be a perfect introduction as there were only a couple surfers out in the water and we were free to get familiar with this beautiful spot. We parked in the Rincon parking lot and walked down the trail to the beach.
From the beach entrance we were able to walk over to Rincon Point and along the way we found an unsuspecting sea creature called a California Sea Hare.
We watched the surf for a while and decided it would be worthwhile to paddle out given that the sets were small but seemed surfable.
So we paddled out and had a wonderful session. The waves are beautiful here and it's a special place.
We returned to our hotel, showered, changed and biked into town to get some lunch. Highly recommend Esaus Cafe.
Surfari prelude! Dropping off Diego with his sister, Dora, in Glendale.
Our hosts in Ventura are the coolest, awesomest friends.
Started our Surfari this Monday morning amidst a pod of Venturian dolphins. Nice dawn patrol crowd at Surfer's Point and although the surf was small, the good vibes were BIG!
Good vibes lasting all through the day, strolls through downtown Ventura, the Refill Shoppe, The Goodwill, Busy Bee diner.
